The Smurf Movie which was released in August 2011 is another media text that incorporates both real image and animated content. I thought this would be good to research as it is following a similar style to my project. The fact that the cartoon characters were going to be shown in the 'real' world made the film a lot more exciting and a lot more interesting than the typical animated film. The animated characters are portrayed to be completely normal within this real world which has worked really well.
The difference with this movie however is that it is all computer generated content. This has made the characters 3D and look more life like. For my animation I will have just 2D animation and I will combine it with stop motion photography instead of video footage.
